Circular building at Floor: how waste gets a second life
Floor's boardroom is built from recycled materials from Almere. How waste got a second life.

The Board Room on the eighth floor of Floor Almere is not just a meeting room. It's a statement. The walls, the furniture, the finishes — everything is made from fully recycled materials from Almere. When you sit there, you're literally sitting in a space that embodies the city's circular economy.
At Floor, we believe in responsible business. The choice for recycled material is not only a sustainability choice — it's a choice to support the local circular economy. Used wood and residual material get a second life here in a stylish, modern setting.
The process: from waste material to boardroom
The project was realized in collaboration with Sheryl Leysner Interior Architecture, who used her expertise to create a harmonious balance between atmosphere and functionality. Special contributions came from Jim van der Wardt of The Crazy Smile and Mauk, for the beautiful wall finishes and furniture built with great attention to detail.
Why circular?
The numbers speak for themselves. The construction sector is responsible for nearly 40% of global CO2 emissions. By building with recycled material, we pull material from the waste stream and prevent new material from needing to be produced.
But it's also a choice that fits the spirit of the times. More and more companies considering Floor as an office location ask about sustainability. The Board Room is tangible proof that Floor takes that seriously.
The Board Room is available to rent for meetings, presentations, and strategic sessions. Book a meeting room or plan a visit.
